Companies have a right to run their business according to their moral beliefs, except when they don’t!

Republican Voters: No company should be forced to do something that is against their morals! If they don’t want to serve gay people they shouldn’t have to!

Companies: We are pulling ads from Bill O’Reilly‘s show due to the recent sexual harassment allegations as that isn’t inline with our values.

Republican Voters: Companies should stay out of political and moral issues and just sell their products!

We have no jobs, oh wait we all have jobs!

Trump Supporter Pre Inauguration: Jobs are leaving the country more than ever before. American’s can’t find jobs, factories are closing!

Trump Supporter After Inauguration: Stupid liberals! Of course there are less people at Trump’s Inauguration, we have jobs!

Disrespectful/ Not Disrespectful

Trump Supporters: I am laughing at all the special snowflake libtards getting all pissy over the inauguration! We didn’t go to the inauguration because we have jobs unlike those liberal welfare moochers!

Trump Supporters: It’s horrible how the left is so disrespectful.

Protesters don’t accomplish anything. Protesters stopped me!

Trump Supporters: Protesting does nothing. It’s stupid just accept he is President.
Trump Supporters: The empty stands along his parade were due to protesters! They prevented me from attending the parade!

We only want facts! No, not those facts!

Trump supporters: Mainstream media lies, all we want is for the media to report facts!

Media: The white House lied. Here are the actual numbers concerning the inauguration.

Trump Supporters: Who cares about the size of the crowds at the inauguration. The media is so disrespectful!

Why didn’t they fight back? How dare they fight back!

People: Why didn’t people stand up to the Nazi’s in Germany? Why didn’t they fight back?
People: How dare you punch a nazi in the face for speaking his opinion!

Guess what? Your opinion might not be valid and when you express it, people should tell you it’s fucking stupid.

I often hear the statement that one of our problems is that we no longer are open to hearing differences of opinion. That no one can agree to disagree anymore. The issue is that people have abused this concept, perverted it. They have used the concept to make people think that we need to hear every idea/opinion no matter how stupid/absrud it is. This is complete bullshit and only serves to make us dumber.

Lets say you and I get into a discussion. I say to you “You aren’t breathing air, you are breathing lava!”. Would you let me continue explaining why I say that? If you said yes, you are part of the problem. The correct response to my statement should be “That is without a doubt the most stupid thing I have heard, and you should be ashamed at the fact that you let it out of your mouth. You should be even more ashamed that you even considered it enough to express it.” Why? Because that statement has no truth to it whatsoever. There is no way that can be possible and it contradicts any common knowledge that humanity has built over the sum of it’s existence. It is bullshit in it’s purest form.

While that was an extreme example, the problem is we let so much bullshit be discussed. Someone says the world is flat, we laugh and let them continue. Someone says that vaccines kill children, we let them form groups, have them on TV, even give them the ability to not vaccinate their children. Someone believes that a man saved humanity from a flood on a boat, we let them build a theme park. Someone insists some magical being created the earth and humans in 7 days, we let them have a say in our schools. We should not be giving any of these individuals one minute to express their opinion. The minute they open their mouths, we should be telling them to shut up. Their view is not reality. It’s not based in fact. It’s based in bullshit and the longer we let them talk, the more people actually will listen to them. By letting them talk, you are helping to make society more stupid. Do you really want to do that?

The other issue is that we’ve mixed up ideas and opinions. An idea is defined as “a thought or suggestion as to a possible course of action”. “Gay people shouldn’t get married” is not an idea, it is an opinion. Therefore it’s certainly not close-minded for people to refuse to discuss that with you. “We are running out of water, we should build desalinization plants.” is an idea. There is a problem and a suggested course of action. “Immigrants are stealing our jobs!” is not an idea, it’s an opinion. We need to stop mixing the discussion of idea’s with the discussion of opinion. It, like letting people saying express any opinion only makes use dumber.

Of course you could say “Immigrants are stealing our jobs! Let’s build a wall”. While that is an idea, I’m going to refer to the previous paragraph and say that when that comes out of your mouth, people should tell you it’s a stupid fucking idea and to shut the fuck up. The fact you even have that thought that shows me you are a fucking idiot who hasn’t spent two minutes actually thinking about idea that you are spewing. See it’s not just the discussion of ideas. It’s the discussion of ideas that have thought behind them. If you haven’t spent 5 minutes thinking about the idea you are pushing, then why should anyone spend 5 minutes discussing it with you? That’s not being close minded, that’s expecting others to use their mind.

I firmly believe society is where it is in large part because we have lost the ability to have discussion on ideas that will help or improve our lives. We sit back and let people spew their stupidity instead of encouraging rational thought and discussion. Then we wonder why someone like Trump can get elected. Right now our society is in major regression and the only way that will ever change is for people to stop accepting stupidity as normal. To start demanding and expecting people to think about their opinions and ideas.

No, they shouldn’t stick to singing, you should shut the fuck up.

Over the past week I have read two instances where people are telling artists that they should stick to their various art forms and not talk about politics. One was with a singer and a “fan” told her that she should stick to music. The other was in response to the cast of the musical Hamilton, telling them they should stick to acting and that politics has no place in the theater.

Who the fuck are these people saying this shit? I’m by no means an art expert. In fact I find much of it boring. I’m also not one who particularly listens to music either. But even I know that the point of any art form is for the artist to provide a message to their audience though whatever art form they choose. Pretty much the entire art/music world is setup around political issues. I mean even the fucking song they worship, The Star Spangled Banner is a fucking political song.

More to the point what the fuck kind of entitled asshole even thinks it’s ok to tell anyone to stick to music/acting? You are telling them to stick to what they are doing, that you don’t approve of the way they are doing it? You know what? Tough shit. You don’t like what an artist has to say? Don’t listen or watch it. Even better get off your bullshit lazy ass and create some art of your own. Maybe you can create a folk song titled “I’m a entitled asshole who thinks everything is about me!”

Election Thoughts

Here we are with Trump and Republican’s winning pretty much everything. Democrats seem to be blindsided not understanding how this possibly could happen. Well I…‘ll tell you how.

First and foremost he won because Merika is a land of racists, sexists, homophobic, xenophobic assholes. No one wants to say that but we are. We dance around that truth and pretend we are a nation of kind and caring individuals. It’s bullshit. Michele Obama makes a speech how wonderful we are and we eat that shit up. We aren’t a nation who cares about people. We aren’t a nation of fairness and justice. No, we are a nation of egotistical, materialistic, self absorbed ignorant fucks. Our entire society is built around those who have the most. Success isn’t measured in how much you have improved society or how much you have helped your fellow humans, it’s measured in how popular you are. And now we have a president who represents exactly who the fuck we are.

 

I know what you are thinking, “That’s not true Clinton won the popular vote by 400K!”. You know what? Fuck you. 60 fucking million American’s voted for the racist asshole. Stop acting like 400K means a god damn thing. And stop spewing the bullshit about the popular vote. It doesn’t fucking matter. That’s not how our god damn election system works.

 

Of course the reason we have Trump isn’t simply because a large part of this country are racists fucks. No we have Trump because of the mother fucking democrats and every fucking one of you mother fuckers who pushed Clinton during the Primary. You and your fucking delusional belief in Clinton is the reason why Trump was elected. Clinton was and is not liked. I can hear it now… “oh but that’s because the republicans lied about her!”. You know what, it doesn’t fucking matter the reason. People didn’t like her, in their minds they didn’t trust her. The reasons for that are irrelevant. Did you pay attention to the fact that her and Trump were neck and neck in the polls? No, you ignored reality because you were so desperate to believe in her. It’s not that you just believed in her. You were smug, you acted superior. You acted like Clinton was perfect and how dare anyone possibly think someone was better. You treated any thought that someone might be a better choice as stupid and not in touch with reality. Well now reality has come and took a nice huge bite out of your ass. You son’s of bitches had a chance to go with Sanders. Someone who didn’t have fucking 90 pounds of baggage. You could have went with someone who wasn’t hated. Someone who could have pulled some of Trump supporters. But you didn’t. You weren’t interested in beating Trump, you were interested in electing Clinton. Well congradufuckinglations, aren’t you just fucking thrilled you were “so with her”?

 

It’s not simply that you supported Clinton during the primary. No you fuckers went out of your god damn way to make Sanders supporters feel like they were losers. You pushed the bullshit about Bernie-Bro’s, chair throwing, calling him dishonest. And then when Sanders lost the nomination, did any of you do a fucking thing to try to get Sanders supporters behind you? Instead of showing empathy for their disappointment and anger at loosing, you made fun of them for their crying and heartbreak. You told them to get over it and fall in line. Did the Democrats try to incorporate any of Sanders ideas into their platform? No of course not. Well Karma has a great way of saying fuck you. How’s it fucking feel to have your dreams crushed? How’s it feel to look at the future and know it’s fucked? You were smug and how have been served a giant slice of humble pie.

You know the other reason why Trump won? Because people are tired of wall street, big banks, and our government doing the same fucking thing over and over. Anyone that actually spent 10 minutes paying attention knew this. So did the Democrats do anything to understand how pissed off people are? No, instead they put up a candidate that represents the exact system that is fucking them over. Why? Because that is who they wanted, reality be dammed, they wanted Clinton!

 

So after this horrible defeat will we stop pretending we are an amazing nation? Will you stop tolerating racist, sexist, xenophobic behavior? When you have a co-worker or relative that starts spewing hate for some group, will you tell them to shut the fuck up? Or will you just sit back and go “oh that’s just how they are?”. Will the Democrats wake the fuck up and stop trying to recreate 1994? Will they stop being the party of the rich and go back to being the party that not only fights for social issues affecting the poor, but also economic issues? Personally I’m guessing none of that will happen. Because for those things to happen, people need to stand up for what is right. They need admit that America’s isn’t the greatest nation on earth. They need to think about someone but their god damn selves and that is not America.

I think it’s time to get back to doing this…

Several years ago I started to blog my thoughts and observations on life. I did so because I needed some way to deal with the frustration, anger, and disappointment I felt for the society I live in. I stopped because writing the posts became more of a chore than a way of dealing with all of the things listed above.

Well with the election going the way it did. With the world in the complete fucked up state that it’s in, I am going to start blogging again. To say I am angry and the way things have ended up in 2016 would be an understatement. So stay tuned for some fantastic rants.
